Shop Local Etsy

I am by no means a master crafter, but every now and then, I’ll buy a few yards of fabric, drag out my sewing machine and hot glue gun and make a pillow or lavender sachet. Fortunately, if I’m not in the mood to make, I don’t have to look far or pay much for shipping for handmade goods.
A search for Cville crafters on Etsy, the virtual marketplace for handmade and craft items, found several in our area. While they are all quite talented, a few caught my eye…
LittleBitFunky A plethora of adorably crafted items including cards, handtowels, gift tags, frames, magnets, and this very cute button bouquet. Wouldn’t this add some color and whimsy to an office shelf?
NeedleNoodles The funniest little crocheted creatures I’ve ever seen. I particularly like this little monkey with a Fez hat. Maybe NeedleNoodles could crochet a Scowly?
Primitive Earth Soaps These handmade, all-natural, one of a kind soaps and skincare products are so adorably packaged, I’d be reluctant to use them and instead display them proudly in the guest bath. Speaking of, Primitive Earth Soaps uses minimal packaging so you can feel good that the product isn’t travelling thousands of miles nor ending up in a landfill.
JenniB Originals At first, I was salivating at the sight of these delicious-looking cupcakes and goodies, envisioning serving up a dozen at my next dinner party and taking the credit. Much to my pleasant surprise, these are actually FAUX goodies. How fantastic! What kitchen wouldn’t look better with some mini cakes or even candied apples on permanent display?
Brokeglass Based in Staunton, this local glassblower has some beautiful pieces available in the Etsy shop. And very good prices, I might add, based on some shopping I did this weekend. I’m very impressed by this blue and yellow platter. Would look lovely on my coffee table. I was also struck by the Jurassic Pickle. A bit more expensive and strange, but definitely worth mention.
LoopyDolls I really don’t know what these are, but they are interesting. The artist’s story about the dolls kinda makes you want to buy one. The artwork is also interesting. So different, I had to add to the list.
This is Charles, he loves his chicken costume. He doesn’t take it off.
During socially awkward moments, his sense of security is safe behind that chick beak and hood.

Haidee, I’m going to get in touch with NeedleNoodle ASAP! That’s a great idea. Nice finds, by the way.
I LOVE Etsy with all my heart! I could spend hours perusing the website for hip one-of-a-kind gifts. Thanks for showing us the local flavor- it’s fun to see Etsy crafters in our own backyard.
There are actually many more Etsy sellers in our area. I just highlighted a few. I hope to feature more in the future. And be on the lookout for an upcoming review of products from Primitive Earth Soap Company.
