Charlottesville Women’s Four Miler this Saturday 8/30

August 27, 2008 by Haidee

This Saturday morning, over 2,500 women will travel four miles of beautiful country roads as they make their way to the finish line of the Charlottesville Women’s Four Miler, Virginia’s largest all-women event honoring the UVA Cancer Center Breast Care Program. Running, walking, trotting, or dancing, these ladies are sure to have fun and feel good as they race in the name of breast cancer prevention, treatment and research.

The race begins at 8AM, but participants and spectators are encouraged to arrive by 6:45AM. In fact, the road will close at 7:45AM, so spectators will need to be in place early. The course runs along Garth Road, with the start and finish at the Foxfield entrance. As in previous years, there is sure to be a great turn out! I am not personally running, but I hope to make it out to cheer on my friends. Coffee in hand of course.

For more information on the race and to make a donation, visit the Charlottesville Women’s Four Miler website.

Here is a video from last year’s race. Wow - they move really fast!
