Sephora Wish List

October 15, 2008 by Haidee

With the Sephora store opening right around the corner, I thought I’d scour their website in search of all the goodies I can check out in person when the doors open, reportedly, tomorrow. While ordering online has always been available, beauty products are just so much fun to play with. And what I love about Sephora is that you can try just about anything.

I’ve got my staples, but I love discovering new, perhaps playful or seasonal, items. Here are a few that are a must-see:

Nars Body Glow. Summer is over and any healthy glow I got beneath my SPF15 is starting to fade. I’ve sworn off tanning beds and instead depend on lotions and potions to get a natural glow in the Fall and Winter months. Already a fan of Nars, I will definitely test these guys out.

Colorons eye appliques. How flipping cool are these? Well, they may be only appropriate for Halloween or girls’ night out, but definitely something fun to hide away for a special occasion or surprise.

Demeter Fragrance Library. I’ve seen and tried Demeter fragrances at other boutiques, but I can’t wait to get a whiff of the Laundry fragrance. Call me crazy, but I love the smell of fresh Dreft. We’ll see if this scent holds up to its name. Not sure if I’d want to smell like a Gin & Tonic at work or Dirt on a date, but I’m interested in giving ’em a sniff.

Harajuku Lovers Fragrances. Another fragrance I HAVE to try. Have you ever seen a bottle like this? Created by Gwen Stefani, the scents and packaging are Inspired by the electric street scene of the Harajuku shopping district in Tokyo.

Givenchy PhenomenEyes Mascara.  I’ve never seen a mascara wand like this. Could it really be a better mascara, “perfectly curling and separating lashes”? I can’t wait to try and see!

Laura Geller Lip Spackle.Spackle is typically something I use to cover up nail holes in my drywall. What the heck does it do for lips? Apparently it preps your lips for longer lipstick coverage. I’m usually skeptical of seemingly superfluous beauty products, but I love the concept, so I’ll give it a try.

What are you hoping to try and find that you haven’t been able to elsewhere in Charlottesville?

As someone who used to work for the Estee Lauder Companies in New York, i find the Givenchy mascara brush very intriguing… excited to try it as well. Great find, Haidee!

I suppose the Miller Harris perfume scent, “Morning Hike, Bottled” might be a better alternative to “Dirt!” Picking shade names (or scents, in this case) was always so much fun — I wonder how that slipped by the creative masterminds??

actually, i used to date this really outdoorsy guy who thought that me being all sweaty and dirty from a hike or a run or whatever was about the sexiest thing ever. maybe he’d go for “dirt”…..

as for me, the name makes me wary, but after years of hearing about nars’ “orgasm” blush, i’m going to have to give it a…erm…whirl.

I just saw an ad in the paper that said their grand opening event is TODAY (Friday, October 17) — and the first 100 ppl to show up get to grab bag for gift certificates, some up to $100 worth! Too bad I don’t work closer by…

I met one of the employees the other day and he said they give samples of everything!
