Red Bird Ink

Red Bird Ink’s stationery designs from the “Snow Collection” immediately remind me of Robert Frost’s poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.
Just in time for winter, the limited edition collection is inspired by memories of hiking through the snow. Handmade paper evokes the texture and reflective quality of snow, while the letterpressed blue gives off a cool feeling. The cards are then blind debossed to create the tracks in the snow, adding further depth. Can you spot the owl?

Red Bird Ink first caught my eye at Martha’s Market, then again at the Charlottesville Market this past weekend. The artist behind the art, Julia B. Farill, grew up in Charlottesville, where she says she draws some of her inspiration for her designs. She honed her talents at the Corcoran, the Maryland Institute College of Art and the School of Architecture at Virginia Tech. She now lives in Atlanta.
Love the designs too much to send off? Frame them! Want custom holiday cards? Planning a party? Need a wedding invite? Cool thank you’s? I saw these at Martha’s Market, too, and did a double-take (and a double purchase). Absolutely AMAZING. I couldn’t believe she made her own paper and how cool it all looked. Fabulous.
I bought the birch tree print this Saturday at the Cville Market. I love how the paper sparkles a little, like snow!
Ooh, I love! I think I’ll order some for Christmas presents!
Thank you all so much for your kind words! It was wonderful to be back in Charlottesville for Martha’s Market and I feel lucky to be featured in Cville Style! By request… the Snow Collection is now available on my etsy site! http://www.redbirdink.etsy.com
