September 18, 2008 by Haidee · 10 Comments

I recently came across the most delightful little cocktail napkins with what looked like traditional monograms, but upon second glance, turned out to be outrageous acronyms representing some oh-too-true statements.

White House Black Market comes to Charlottesville - enter to win a $10 gift certificate!

July 30, 2008 by Haidee · 8 Comments

As a gal who likes to shop, I am thrilled about the arrival of another option for finding classic, reasonably priced clothes. If you’ve read my thoughts on shopping, you’ll know that, while I enjoy investing in a gorgeous piece of clothing every now and then, I also want to buy closet staples at a decent price. CvilleStyle Spotlight: Blue Ridge Eco Shop & Eco Giveaway!

July 15, 2008 by Haidee · 22 Comments

I stopped in the Blue Ridge Eco Shop today to buy a can of paint. Not only was I happy to bypass the hellish experience that is the Lowes paint counter, but, more importantly, I was on a mission for non-toxic, zero VOC. I found the perfect teal for my powder room, and I left the Blue Ridge Eco Shop more informed about some of the everyday products I use and how they affect the planet and my health.

While I’ve not yet purchased “bgreen” undies, I do try to be as eco-friendly as possible. It can be challenging, though, with all the big box retailers and their ”bigger and cheaper” merchandising strategy. Sadly, you often have to make more of an effort to buy a product that is kind to the earth and your body. Thankfully, the Blue Ridge Eco Shop is making it easier, and more stylish.
